ABOUT

Salad Bar is the studio and shop of Maggie Johnson: artist, creative dabbler, and full-time goofball based in Denver, Colorado.

Coming from a long line of artists, crafts people, and curious creators making things is innate to Maggie. Her work is all about creating connection as she uses her art practice as a way to build relationships with herself and others. The result is work that is self-liberating, unrefined, fun, and heart-centered.

Maggie graduated from Portland State University with a degree in graphic design in 2017, sparking her interest in typography, custom lettering, and creative problem solving. Post college, she worked as a designer at Jolby, an illustration and design studio in Portland, Oregon. There she worked alongside a group of talented creatives developing brands, packaging, campaigns, and spaces for a wide range of local and global clients. In 2021, she moved back home to Colorado and fell in love with making ceramics, getting weird with screen printing, and following her passions of lettering and pattern design. She now lives in Denver with her fiancé and their two dogs.
